Nigel Key Pink-Footed Goose

The Pink-Footed Goose is closely related to the Bean Goose and is very similar in appearance.
The main difference between the two geese is the Pink-Footed Goose has a Pink Beak and Pink legs and feet, and the Bean Goose has an Orange Beak and Orange legs and feet.
The Pink-Footed Goose is the only goose with both Pink legs and Beak.

Size
600mm to 750mm (23" to 29")
Appearance - Male
The Pink-Footed Goose has a Dark Brown head and neck, a short Pink beak with a Black tip and base. Grey/Brown body with pale fringes on the feathers. A White rump and vent with a Grey tail with a White tip. It has Pink legs and feet.
Appearance - Female
Both sexes are alike.
Habitat
Tundra Lakes, Riverbanks, Cliffs, Saltmarshes, wet Meadows and Agricultural land.
Diet
Aquatic plants, Roots, Leaves, Tubers, Sedges, grazing on grasses, Grain, Potatoes and Shoots.
Breeding Time
Early to Mid May in Iceland (later in Greenland).
Eggs
Quantity: 3 to 6
Colour: Dull White.
